As part of DRAW Academy’s annual tradition, our class of fifth graders attended Camp Allen to recognize their graduation from elementary school and celebrate the milestone of their entrance to middle school.
Camp Allen is a three-day fun-filled adventure where our students can experience nature and wildlife. Led by tour guides, our students are taken on hikes where they learn about the variety of plants and animals found in Texas.
Our students also have the chance to participate in other activities such as zip-lining and rock wall climbing. While these activities are fun, they can also produce a sense of unease. Encouraged by their classmates and teachers, students push themselves past their mental roadblocks. They challenge themselves by climbing to new heights, taking leaps of faith, and trusting their peers.
Camp Allen is the trip of a lifetime and we are so proud of our fifth graders for conquering their fears and being open-minded to new opportunities!
DRAW Academy thanks Walter Salgado for planning the 5th-grade graduation trip for ten consecutive years. Mr. Salgado coordinates with the Camp Allen Discovery program annually to ensure a smooth enjoyable experience for our students.
